Petra has been practicing massage therapy since 2008 and worked as a therapist in many places around the world. She studied Ayurvedic Massage in India, and later obtained her Personal Trainer Certification / Yoga Instructor Certification and graduated from the Healing Arts and Spirits and the Guild Institute for Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado.

She believes that both Yoga and Structural Integration (Ida P. Rolf Method) work towards the physical and emotional evolution of the individual by addressing structural alignment and whole-body integration evoking lasting and even permanent change. Petra realized that becoming a Structural Integration therapist would give her an opportunity to help others heal themselves.

As a practitioner, she always tries to encourage people to take responsibility for their own health and do work outside of the session so they don’t always rely on a therapist. She has gained deep understanding and passion for the body’s tendencies, releases and healing capabilities. Most people can benefit immensely from Structural Integration Series as it is truly and awakening for both the mind and the body with long lasting changes.
Hanako Gotoh, LMT
Not only is Hanako a certified massage therapist specializing in prenatal and infant massage, as well as a certified Doula, she is also a mother of two beautiful children.

She strongly believes in a holistic approach to correcting dysfunction throughout the body. Through a combination of bodywork, community, love, and laughter, she believes each individual has the capacity to reach optimal health and well-being.
Prenatal massage therapy provides many benefits. Not only is it a drug free method for relieving the normal ache and pains of pregnancy, it can also help a woman better prepare for labor. Massage helps loosen tension so a woman can go into labor as free from tension as possible. Additionally, proprioception (body awareness) is also developed during massage. This increased body awareness is helpful during contractions, enabling women to better relax muscles that aren’t being used in the birthing process, which preserves strength and reduces unnecessary tension. Lastly, massage allows us to form an unspoken bond that becomes beneficial in labor, allowing me to recognize abnormal muscle tension and using that knowledge to target areas that need the most attention during labor.

Postpartum massage aids in the recovery of muscle tone and balance, aiding viscera into proper alignment, checking for pregnancy related injuries, giving you a chance to decompress from the birth, and providing an opportunity for partner to enhance their Skinship by learning how to help you relieve tension from breastfeeding. Hanako recommends Mom gets her massage within the first ten days after birth to receive maximum benefits for her recovery.

The practice of Skinship in Japanese culture is focused around presence with yourself. This individual level of intimacy then spirals out to presence and connection with the people in your life, such as your partner, children, family, and friends. Skinship enables us to enter a more empathic, intuitive, meditative, and reflective state, which makes it easer to be emotionally available and vulnerable, deepening our ability to bond with one another.

My parents both taught me the power of Skinship in their own ways, and the message that it communicates nonverbally is: I see you, I acknowledge you, you’re valuable to me. This act of touch, and the quality of touch, taught me that I’m valuable and important.

Pressure Stimulation is a technique unique to PUSH Therapy and is applied with a relaxed, non-forceful pressure from the therapist. Soft Pressure Stimulation techniques are used during PUSH treatments to restore blood flow and oxygen to tissue that has developed chronically tight or rigid patterns from repetitive use, overuse, or repetitive muscle fatigue. Restoring blood flow and oxygen returns the nutrients the tissue needs to become mobile and supple again, which in turn relieves compression on joints and nerves. PUSH Therapy is ideal for those persons who deal with chronic tension and pain. Weekend warrior, soccer-Mom, or top-flight athlete PUSH works for you.

Relaxation Massage is customized by Hanako. Hanako uses Swedish massage as the basis for your Relaxation session. Other modalities, or techniques, will be incorporated into the massage when your tissues do not respond to a Swedish technique. In addition, the use of hot towels on the face, feet, and back will enhance your relaxation experience, and face and foot massage reinforce stress relief.

Hot Stones replace my hands as the tool used for the massage. I have perfected my technique to be able to perform a deep tissue hot stone massage without the use of an oil application. I use basalt river rock heated in a water bath. This process allows for an even heat within the stones. Commonly, hot stones are placed upon the body to heat up that area. While this technique is adequate it misses the “that was an amazing massage” factor. My perfected style redefines everything hot stone massage is all about.
